Dr. Jeffrey Ranta, MD

Dr. Ranta received his BA in biology from Boston College. From there he earned both his MS in physiology and his MD from Georgetown University School of Medicine. He continued his education at Georgetown University by completing his two year general surgery residency. His Urology residency was done at Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Boston where he was Chief Resident from 1983 to 1984.

As the president of Greenwich Urological Associates, P.C., Dr. Ranta is highly experienced at treating all aspects of urological disease. His areas of special interest include the proper diagnosis and treatment of Urologic Cancer, Kidney Stones, Urinary Incontinence and Pelvis Pain Syndromes. Dr. Ranta is also chief of Urology Section at Greenwich Hospital. In 1994, Dr. Ranta founded the Greenwich Prostate Cancer Center and is actively involved in numerous community programs including cancer screenings and lecture series. He maintains active membership in the American Urological Association (AUA), the New England AUA, the Fairfield County Medical Society, and the American Medical Association (AMA). He also was honored with “America Top Physicians for 2003” award from Consumers Research Council of America. Dr. Ranta is licensed in New York and Connecticut and Board Certified.
